Much Love - The Beacon

Sessions and Upcoming events :)

  • “It’s a nice place, straightforward to get to from downtown, and has a fantastic roster of teachers and dance styles. I’ve been learning from Orb and Stepz and I think their teachings have contributed greatly to my relationship to dance and music. I also really enjoy Wednesday soul city sessions! On top of all that, I think the Beacon just does a fantastic job of being there for the culture - they’ve been the venue for all kinds of battles, events, and every staff member is an active member of the larger dance community. Truly an important space and one to be treasured.”

  • “The Beacon has cultivated a safe home for street dancers to explore creatively and build community. Wednesdays at The Beacon are equivalent to my Sunday church day, particularly with open session at the end of the night… I look forward to moving and learning with the community of dancers at The Beacon who make me feel seen and inspire me every week to not only be a better artist, but a better person… I have immense gratitude for the experiences I've had thus far and feel like this is just the beginning of more great things to come.”

  • “Since 2019 the Beacon has been like a second home to me. I love the abundance of talent and knowledge the teachers have to share with the students and it has been a source of friendship and community for me as well. Words can’t express the love and gratitude I have for all those who keep the classes, events, and community at the Beacon alive!”

  • “Thank you - peers, students, instructors, and staff - for making this such a welcoming and happy space! I often find myself leaving class with a big smile on my face or an indescribable surge of joy and energy flowing through my heart... You all make The Beacon the special place it is.”
